Going/Arrived chat function – Sneak Peek

The big update to the apps with a ton of new stuff will be within the next week or two.  I like putting out little snips (using the word from the snipping tool which i love to use) from the next version which i’ve had a half version of for a few days now – and it’s going to crush.

If we are going to be the most kick-ass planning tool out there then we need to capture all aspects of the process, one of which is letting you know which of your friends is not only interested in going somewhere with you but when they actually arrive (kinda like that other company..what is their name…oh right foursquare :).  Unlike foursquare though we are less concerned with the checkin to recieve some sort of medal or mayor status and more for letting friends know when you get somewhere your suppose to hang out at with them.

So when you see them check arrived 10 minutes before you, you don’t need to send that text of – “hey where are you?”.

Also – for the people who say they are not going to be going or able to make the plan (checking off not going), they will stop receiving push notifications, but will be able to stay in the convo to keep seeing what friends are going to be doing, despite them not making it.

 

I shot from the hip in writing this – didnt reread, no time at the moment – so my bad for any grammer mistakes.

Shizzlr Story Time

We have always been asked how our name came about, and a while back for fun we started to just start telling random fake stories about it, becoming more ridiculous as each one was told.  So as people realized they were fake, they started coming up with their own and telling us –

yada yada yada despite having a REAL story (buried in our site somewhere) we decided to start #ShizzlrStoryTime or #SST hashtag on twitter for anyone to create their own.

Website New Chat Preview

Woot woot Woodward (nickname ol’ salty) did well.  You will soon be seeing the updated superchat in the website to coincide with the new application chat.  More info to come as we get sooner to release of the app updates (1-2 wks in marketplaces).

A constant juggling act – to work or talk

Working and taking time to let people know what you are working on appear to be two things that coincide, when in reality one cuts into the time of the other.  And up until now we have been all one sided – working – figuring that people will see the hard work for themselves, hear through the grapevine the things we are working on, and not necessarily need to be told specifically news from us. It was a bad assumption.

As hats begin to stack on every entrepreneurs head some begin to fall off, and despite seeing it fall by your side they still get forgotten about.  For us the hat that fell was social media communication – basically being active in letting our community of friends and users know what we are up too, where we are going, and everything else in between. We enjoyed working so much and would rather build the product with true value then just tell them about one we are building – with this reasoning were able to justify our inactivity of not talking about things through our social media sites half as much as we should be.

Welp – from this day on there will be more of a balance of work and talk – hence a sign similar to this will be in our office shortly.

Now we wont be anything close to the frequency of your farmville posts – but we promise to be in touch more.  I feel like that kid that you see after coming back from school at a bar randomly who you never were actually friends with and say “aw ya we totally need to hang out” – taking their number without any intention of calling them ever again.  Well ill be calling after this post.
